National Oak Academy
A brand new online resource, created especially for the lock-down situation, providing lessons for all year groups and subjects delivered by teachers around the country.
British Red Cross Teaching Resources
A set of free and engaging online resources for children and young people to do at home during the coronavirus lock-down which explore and promote the value of kindness.
For pupils in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 the Phonics Play website will be very familiar from their classes. This site is fabulous for practising all elements of phonics and early spelling.
The popular teaching resource website Twinkl have produced free home learning packs and guidance for parents. There is a wealth of activities on here, covering many aspects of the school curriculum, including some lovely, creative art activities.
PE with Joe Wicks
Stay active whilst at home! Joe Wicks will be providing daily, morning PE sessions via his YouTube page. You can also access his existing 5 minute and 8 minute workouts on the Twinkl website. Both links provided above. These are great to use as they are simple and quick to pick up and can be used any time you want to get moving and get energised!
Oxford Owl provides free home learning resources, including a library of eBooks that can be read on tablets and computers, as well as further parental guidance and activities for phonics, maths and outdoor learning.
Our pupils at Northbourne are fantastic at mindfulness and wellbeing. Many of you will be very familiar with the Cosmic Kids website that uses stories to deliver peaceful and calming yoga sessions. Give it a go at home and relax.......
White Rose - Video Maths Lessons
At Northbourne we follow the White Rose scheme for Maths. You can access the website by following this link, where they are publishing daily maths lessons, with a video link and resources, for each year group. Great for keeping those Maths skills ticking over!
Vooks is an online collection of read-aloud, animated storybooks. Parents can sign up for a free trial and then you can enjoy a visual storytime at home. There are also learning resources to accompany many of the stories.
Authorfy - Video Writing Masterclasses
Authorfy has some wonderful writing masterclass videos by bestselling children's authors. They also come with downloadable resources to help you improve your creative writing. Look out for the daily writing challenges on their Twitter feed too!
Wingham Wildlife Park - Live Video Feeds and Keeper Blogs
Wingham Wildlife Park are posting live video feeds and tours of the park that you can watch from home. There are also blogs by the Keepers so you can read all about the daily life of the Keepers and the animals. Perfect for all our animal loving pupils.
The Maths Factor
The Maths Factor website is currently offering free subscription. This site, presented by Carol Vordeman of Countdown fame, has a wealth of online learning opportunities to help support Maths skills and knowledge. Why not give the times table check a go, how high will you score?
