LENT LABYRINTH DAY - THURSDAY 2 MARCH 2017
All pupils participated in the Labyrinth Day on Thursday 2 March 2017. Pupils joined in an array of interesting activities which reflected Lent. Our pictures show our pupils making Lent Savings containers for small change, Mardi Gras masks which are used in carnivals around the world, Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday is celebrated in some countries for Lent, pupils also reflected their thoughts listening to music and using pencils to reflect how Jesus felt when he was going to be crucified. Paintings by pupils gave them thoughts about temptation and what things were tempting during Lent, chocolate was a hot favourite. A template of pupils hands was drawn and cut out then prayers were written inside.
Labyrinth mats, wooden labyrinths and small hand held labyrinths were brought in by Barbara Wallace who lead workshops throughout the day on how to use a labyrinth to introduce calm and reflection in to hectic lives. Pupils enjoyed walking on a huge hand printed and hand sewn labyrinth, in calm and peace and enjoyed asking Barbara many questions.
