CHRISTMAS STARTS AT NORTHBOURNE CEP SCHOOL
Today pupils arrived at school and the Christmas Tree had been put up (8 December 2016) - we think by Alf the Elf - we are all looking forward to the festive season. Some classes have been preparing for our Christmas Fayre on Friday 16 December 2016 which starts at 14:00 hours with our Grand Draw at 15:45 hours. We have had much fun making our gifts. A full dress rehearsal for our KS1 play took place on Wednesday 14 December 2016 - the main event takes place on Monday 19 December 2016 at 14:00 hours - please remember we have 50 children participating and we ask that the audience is kept to a respectable minimum. Pupils have been very creative making wreaths, sock snowmen, snow globes, reindeer food and ginger bread men. On our Christmas Fayre Day we had a visit by Father Christmas who asked children 'what their favourite lesson is?' - many children informed him that they loved Forest School! We hope Father Christmas brings lots of surprises next week. We must thank our hard working PFA and many of our parents for helping on the day for making such a great atmosphere and such a great success on the day, the Christmas Fayre has raised in the region of £850.00. The Christmas play which involved all KS1 pupils has been an outstanding success with clear speaking and a full audience to play to, see our photographs. Our Christmas Jumper Day raised £82.20 which will go towards the Kent Air Ambulance. A wonderful Christmas dinner was cooked by Whole School Meals for our children, where we had festive singing by the staff and pupils and read out our jokes from the crackers provided by PFA. Staff and our lunchtime supervisors served dinner to pupils.
