Collective Worship

Collective Worship plays a key role in the daily life and work at Northbourne Church of England Primary School. It provides our community with a valuable opportunity to reaffirm our Christian values and ethos. It is a special time in the school day where we come together to strengthen our sense of community, belonging and inclusiveness and to reinforce the respect and care we have for each other. Through Collective Worship we make a contribution to the religious, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of those present.

The daily act of worship is held in the school hall and is led by different members of the school family, including the Headteacher, Class Teachers, the Vicar or Church Warden of St Augustine's Church, visiting speakers and the children themselves. Each term our Pupil led Collective Worship Team hosts the collective worship and leads us in liturgy, prayer and song.

Throughout the year we hold celebrations for Harvest, Christmas, Easter, Pentecost and a Yaer 6 Leaver’s Service. These services are led by the children with input from the local church.  Parents are always very welcome to join us for these important events in the school year.

Northbourne CEP School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all Governors, staff, volunteers, parents and carers to share this commitment.
