Deal Foodbank Update

Update on Deal foodbank

August 2014

Dear Supporters,

During the last month our volunteers have been busy raising awareness about the Deal Area Emergency Foodbank and collecting food and non-food donations from our latest supermarket collection.   Shoppers were incredibly generous and we heard some powerfully positive stories such as a comment made by a gentleman who gave us 5 bags of food:

"I am giving you this food because my best friend used the deal food bank early in the year and he said that without your help and kindness, he would have been forced into a very dark place. So thank you so much for helping him and others"                                             (July 2014)

In this current year alone (since 1st April 2014 till now) people across the area have kindly donated 8243.2kgs and we have distributed 7469.4kgs food and non-food items, which have helped 667 people (431 adults and 236 children).

I have attached a poster of the items we need most urgently this month, which are as follows:

Ketchup
Brown Sauce
Custard and Sponge Puddings
Curry Sauces

Non-Food:
Shower gel, Shampoo, Deodorant, Dog Food

Thank you for partnering with us as your continued support and donations really are helping us make a positive difference within the community.

Yours sincerely

Julia Thompson
